Permanent make-up
Aftercare
48 hours before your appointment
Avoid alcohol, blood thinners (such as aspirin or ibuprofen; paracetamol is fine), and intense sun. Arrive rested and without make-up on the treatment area. For lips: if you are prone to cold sores, let us know so we can discuss a preventive course beforehand.
Day 1
The colour looks deeper and more intense than the end result right now, which is normal. For the first hours, gently blot the area dry with a clean paper tissue and otherwise keep it dry. Do not touch with unwashed hands.
Days 2 and 3
Twice a day, apply a very thin layer of the aftercare balm we gave you using a cotton swab, never your fingers. For lips, keep them lightly moist; for brows and eyeliner, keep the area as dry as possible. Mild swelling or a tight feeling can occur.
Days 4 to 7
Small crusts and flakes appear. Let them fall off on their own; do not scratch or pick, because that pulls pigment out and can create patches. Keep applying a thin layer of balm while the skin is still flaking.
Week 2
The flaking is over and the colour now looks noticeably light or uneven. This is the so-called 'ghosting' phase and completely normal: the pigment sits beneath a fresh layer of skin and resurfaces over the coming weeks.
Weeks 3 and 4
The colour settles and becomes more even. The skin has recovered: make-up, exercise, sauna, swimming and sun with high SPF are fine again. Use SPF on the area daily to keep the colour beautiful for longer.
Do
Blot dry, wash your hands before every contact, apply balm thinly with a cotton swab, sleep on your back if you can, and use SPF daily after healing.
Do not
Do not scratch or pick, no make-up, scrubs or acids on the area during healing, no sauna, swimming pool, intense sweating or sunbed for the first two weeks, and do not touch it up yourself.
Follow-up: weeks 6 to 8
The follow-up is part of your first treatment and included. We then perfect shape and colour, because only after full healing do we see how your skin took the pigment. Schedule it during your first appointment.
Touch-up: after 10 to 18 months
Permanent make-up fades gradually. A touch-up refreshes colour and shape without a full new treatment. On average that is after 10 to 18 months, depending on your skin, sun exposure and care.
